Boris Claudio Schifrin, known as Lalo Schifrin, born June 21, 1932 in Buenos Aires and died June 26, 2025 in Los Angeles, was an American-Argentine pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor. Depending on the period, he alternated or blended, adding touches of Latin music, his youthful passions: classical music, jazz, and film music. Lalo Schifrin is known for composing the theme music for the television series Mission: Impossible. He is also renowned for his film scores (Bullitt, Dirty Harry, Dragon Ball, etc.) as well as for other television series and film soundtracks (Mannix, Starsky and Hutch, etc.). In 2018, he was awarded an Honorary Academy Award. A prolific composer, with over 250 compositions in total, Lalo Schifrin works for jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie as well as for symphonies.
