Carmelo Gómez, born January 2, 1962, in Sahagún (province of León), is a Spanish actor and winner of two Goya Awards. He was one of Julio Medem's favorite actors in the 1990s. He is one of seven actors to have received the National Film Award from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, along with Francisco Rabal, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Fernando Rey, Javier Bardem, Antonio Banderas, and José Sacristán. After two feature films (La Punta del iceberg and La playa de los ahogados), he left his film career in 2014 to devote himself to his theater company.
